Chicago Bears Third Biggest Need: Upgrades in the Receiving Game

Darnell Mooney is still the Bears’ leading receiver on the year despite not playing since before Thanksgiving and missing four games which goes to show how much talent the wide receiver room lacks. Their next closest wide receiver is Equanimous St. Brown who has been a big contributor all season but should not be asked to be a legitimate WR2/3 on any team next season.

The Chicago Bears brought in Chase Claypool but he has been either hurt or still learning the playbook all year, and even the plays he was in for and knew the play, he was not a difference maker. A wide receiver room with Mooney and Claypool as your big two is simply not gonna cut it for a team who has Justin Fields trying to develop.

The tight end also needs some fine-tuning and maybe even a splash signing or drafting piece to add some firepower because all tight ends not named Cole Kmet on the Bears roster have a combined 6 catches all year. Kmet has been a solid tight end but he is not and will never be a one-man wrecking crew for a whole tight end room. I would kick the tires on Dalton Schultz or dig deep for day 3 of the draft tight end to add some depth.
