As the Chicago Bears finish off the 2022 season limping to the finish line one thing is obvious; change is coming. Ryan Poles took over a team with no assets, and this offseason he is in much better condition to build from here.

With that said, new faces are coming in and obviously old faces are coming out. Who are some players who have been starting for the team most of the season, but we may not see them in that same role next year?

5. Will Chicago Bears release Cody Whitehair?

This is about the third time we had done a send-off for Cody Whitehair. He has suffered two injuries, and both of them had him missing multiple games. Both of them had us questioning if this was the final run of Whitehair and if it would get to a point where they just shut him down for the season.

They ended up letting him keep fighting back, probably because they know that is how he would have wanted to go out. Whitehair will go out a fighter, who was here through the tough and the good but played any chance he was healthy enough to. He was a leader, and for a long time was a player who would never miss a game.

Those days of playing through small issues have caught up to him, though and now he seems to have an issue or two every year. Beyond that, he is obviously a step slower now. The combination has 2022 displaying some of his worst football.

His age, his contract, and his lack of commitment from a regime that did not draft him should ensure that Cody Whitehair will be making his final start with the Chicago Bears Sunday.
