NFL analysts need to stop the nonsense regarding the Chicago Bears
The 2022 regular season is over and apparently, NFL analysts have taken crazy pills again. We have heard NFL pundits over the last few days talk about how Justin Fields isn’t good enough and that the Chicago Bears must look at drafting a quarterback now that they own the first-overall pick. I understand the importance of clicks and views. Hell, I write for a damn blog site that lives off of them. However, spewing this nonsense has to stop. Mainly, because they are narrow-minded opinions that don’t take the full season into context.
I’m not sure where to start. There are multiple analysts that I could throw under the bus here. First, let’s look at Skip Bayless. Bayless recently spoke about how the Chicago Bears would be better off with Bryce Young as their quarterback. I’ll admit, he wasn’t very passionate about it — not compared to most of his rants anyway. However, just speaking it into existence is silly.
NFL pundits seem confused about Chicago Bears quarterback, Justin Fields
Next up is Mike Tannenbaum. Tannenbaum also said that the Chicago Bears should draft Bryce Young, while trading Justin Fields for two draft picks. The idea was ridiculous, seeing that the team is likely to gain more draft capital by trading the first-overall pick.
Our favorite Packers Twitter “analyst”, Peter Bukowski has also been all over Justin Fields again lately. His team whiffed severely this season and missed the playoffs, just for him to try and belittle the Chicago Bears. Here was his thread on Twitter:
Now, nothing that Bukowski said here is wrong, but there is plenty of context that is being ignored. Before we go into what I mean, let’s throw one other name under this bus.
LeSean McCoy has been trashing Justin Fields almost all season. He was back at it again today. He listed how Justin Fields is ranked 31st in completion percentage. He stated how Justin Fields is dead last in passing yards per game. He even tried to say that wide receivers don’t want to go there to play with him. What a joke.
