Chicago Bears make big trade for WR in seven-round mock draft

Chicago Bears Mock Draft: Round 5, Pick 133 – Tucker Kraft, TE, S.D. State
Now, in all honesty, this was one of those picks where the board wasn’t looking really good, and Kraft was the best player available.
It’s not a dire need to get a tight end, as Cole Kmet is just 23 years old, and this year was the most productive he’s been since being drafted in 2020.
However, with the offense the Chicago Bears run, having a second big-bodied tight end could be really helpful for a developing passer in Justin Fields.
Kraft is super similar to the size of Cole Kmet, as Kraft is 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds, while Kmet is 6-foot-6 and 260 pounds.
Along with that, Kraft would be an immediate red zone target for Fields, which was one of the major lapses in the Bears’ offense last season.
Kraft might not burn defenders with his speed or agility, but what he can do is come down with the football and be a nuisance to bring down.
In terms of how efficient the Bears were in the red zone last season, Justin Fields had a 12:1 TD-to-INT ratio while within 20 yards of the RedZone. While within 10 yards of the endzone, Fields had a 6:1 ratio.
The numbers aren’t terrible, but there’s plenty of room to get better, and Tucker Kraft would help that. This pick could be seen as a luxury pick, but with how the board looked during this draft, he was a clear choice.
