2. This Chicago Bears rookie played every snap

Did Chicago Bears rookie left tackle Braxton Jones have an up-and-down season? Yes. However, by the end, he was on the upswing, and the whole year has to be looked at as a positive. Braxton Jones played every snap as a rookie.

That is hard to do if you went to Alabama, but Jones did that with the jump from Southern Utah. He took on much steeper competition, held his own, and did not miss any time due to injury. That is impressive no matter how you slice it when looking at NFL linemen.

The Chicago Bears could upgrade at left tackle, but that reliability has to be given another year. Beyond that, holes at left guard, center, and right tackle need to be filled first. This gives Jones at least one more year as a starter.

As a rookie from Southern Utah, Jones had to have no idea what to expect from this season. However, if he looks back now and thinks that he left his rookie season with an inside shot at being the starter at left tackle for the second season in a row, that has to be a positive development.
