5.  Riley Reiff

The Chicago Bears signed Riley Reiff to a one-year, $3M deal. He hit some incentives to get to this point, but overall the team got what they paid for. He signed late into the summer, so he did not immediately win a starting job.

However, when Larry Borom got injured, and Reiff came in, the team decided to stick with Reiff. He was clearly an upgrade over Borom. Unfortunately, Reiff dealt with a few other injuries throughout the year.

Still, he started 10 games for the Chicago Bears. You could argue that right tackle was a weakness, and they still have a need there, so it did not accomplish much, but he held down the role when the team needed him. He was signed for insurance, and they happened to have the situation call for it.

Reiff will be 35 next season, and he will not even need to be signed until late into the summer, similar to this past year. Still, had the Bears signed him for OTAs, maybe he would have been prepared to beat Larry Borom, and the line would have been better by week one.

The signing was not great, but it definitely was not bad, either.
