Round 4, Pick No. 133: DeMarvion Overshown

The Bears continue to add young and exciting talent to head coach Matt Eberflus’ defense, selecting Texas linebacker DeMarvion Overshown with one of their two fourth-round selections.

Originally recruited as a safety, Overshown’s transition to linebacker proved just how physical and adaptable of a player he is. He proved to have great sideline-to-sideline play-making abilities, something in which the Bears’ defense lost when they traded Roquan Smith. His downhill speed made him a menace in run support for the Longhorns.

If the Bears want to find a bruiser to bolster their linebacker core, Overshown is the player to select. He’s proven himself as a versatile player who can be plugged in where the Bears need him.

Round 4, Pick No. 135 (via PHI): Nick Broeker

The former Sacred Heart Griffin returns home, helping to build the Bears’ offensive line in Poles’ image. The three-year starter never missed a game during his time at Ole Miss, providing the team a player who is durable and has experience at both guard and tackle.

Broeker has some concerns with handling the bull rush and his overall ability to anchor himself in at times. He tends to reach a bit on blocks as well. However, he’s a reliable player who has the versatility to his game, giving the Bears a fun project piece and someone who can be plugged in where needed.
