The Chicago Bears must consider Orlando Brown should he hit free agency

Orlando Brown is not only the top free agent on this list, but he is possibly the top offensive line free agent should he actually reach free agency. I have a strong suspicion that Brown either signs an extension with the Chiefs or he is franchise tagged. However, if he were to hit free agency, Ryan Poles needs to make an offer. Brown would be an upgrade over Braxton Jones at left tackle. Jones might be able to move over to the right side.

If the Chicago Bears want Orlando Brown, it will cost them. He is only 26 years old and will likely see a four or five-year contract worth over $20 million per year. The Bears have the salary cap space and honestly Brown is worth it.

This season, Brown allowed four sacks on 1,133 snaps. He has been a key component of one of the better offensive lines in football. Patrick Mahomes clearly helps with his ability to scramble and extend plays, but that’s also something Justin Fields is able to do. Brown would have the appropriate experience needed for a quarterback with Fields’ skill set.
