Chicago Bears need a run-stopper like Keanu Benton

Keanue Benton was coming off of a strong senior campaign for the Wisconsin Badgers, and he carried that momentum into the Senior Bowl. Benton typically is known for his ability to win with leverage against the run. He can hold up and not get pushed back.

However, this week we saw some of his ability to create push. He did not win every rep, but when he did there was obvious wins with strength, and also solid hand usage. It presented more upside than expected.

Benton is interesting because he could fill the nose role next to a rushing three-technique. If the Chicago Bears draft Jalen Carter number one, they could still swing back and take Benton at another point, and it would be a great fit.

Still, if they take Will Anderson over Carter, or if they trade for a big-name three-technique, they could then take Benton, and the line would really start to look good.

The need is obvious, and such an awful run team should love that his floor is a stable run defender. They have to be intrigued that his upside has pass-rush potential, though.
