The Chicago Bears must consider Andre Dillard should he hit free agency
If Ryan Poles and the Chicago Bears are looking to find a “diamond in the rough”, Andre Dillard could be that guy. He is a former first-round pick who hasn’t amounted to what he was expected coming out of Washington St. Over his first three years, he has started nine times for the Eagles. However, he did not start at all in 2022.
Dillard is big and could instantly compete at left or right tackle. He stands 6’5″ and weighs 315 pounds. He is a little on the heavier side when you look at Ryan Poles’ history when it comes to deciding on what players he likes for the Chicago Bears. That said, Dillard would make for a relatively cheap option and would add some solid depth to the offensive line.
Rumors are out now that Ryån Poles is going to be “hot and heavy” when it comes to free agency — specifically on the offensive line. This doesn’t mean he’s going to throw money around like it’s going out of style though. Dillard could be an interesting option. He is a better pass-blocker than a run-blocker in my opinion but that could be a key reason to sign him.
