Four teams most likely to trade with the Chicago Bears for the No. 1 pick
By Evan Bruner
The Houston Texans are one team that could trade with the Chicago Bears
Why they want the No. 1 pick
Initially, it may sound foolish for Houston to trade up one spot, especially since it’s been established the Bears aren’t looking for a quarterback. But the Texans know that staying put would give other QB-needy teams the opportunity to jump them.
Also, the fact that a division rival has already been linked to this trade won’t be overlooked. If the Texans are truly enamored by one of the quarterbacks, they have all the reason in the world to pull the trigger. Otherwise, they risk watching him go to a divisional rival.
What it would take
The Texans own a whopping 11 picks in the draft. This gives them more flexibility as a trade partner, as they will still have ample opportunities to improve their roster.
Ideally, the Bears could snag both the Texans’ first-round picks (second and 12th overall). If Houston is unwilling to part with the 12th pick they got from the Deshaun Watson deal, they would have to surrender one of their two first-round picks in 2024 to compete with the other offers.
