Four teams most likely to trade with the Chicago Bears for the No. 1 pick
By Evan Bruner
Honorable mentions
It seems unlikely a team outside of the four mentioned will strike a deal for the first pick. Some lack the draft capital, while others lack the desire to make such an ambitious move. Still, it would be disingenuous to completely disregard the other 27 teams.
New York Jets
New York has just about given up on Zach Wilson. As a result, they find themselves in the Jimmy Garoppolo market. While Garoppolo would be a substantial upgrade over Wilson, he doesn’t offer the team a lot of long-term security. The problem is the Jets are picking outside of the top ten, which is lower than Chicago would be willing to drop. New York would need to throw in a truly jaw-dropping haul to even have a chance.
Tennessee Titans
Tennessee is an intriguing fit just because of Ryan Tannehill’s age and recent regression. Still, it’s hard to see them pulling the trigger. Also, they just don’t have the draft picks to offer an enticing package.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay doesn’t seem to be enthralled by Kyle Trask’s development, and with Brady gone, they are in serious danger of returning to irrelevance. However, they may be better suited for blowing the team up and landing one of the top picks on their own in the highly anticipated 2024 draft.
Atlanta Falcons
We haven’t seen enough of Desmond Ridder to know if Atlanta should be all in on him. But the Falcons lack the assets to make such a major move, and with the apparent holes on the roster, the team isn’t exactly a quarterback away.
