Chicago Bears Free Agent Target No. 3: Javon Hargrave, DT – Philadelphia

Javon Hargrave is also another interior defensive lineman just like Daron Payne who should be a player the Chicago Bears should be in on this offseason. Unlike Payne, Hargrave is not a candidate that I would expect to be franchise tagged, although it is possible, I would doubt that the Eagles exercise the franchise tag on the 30-year-old defensive lineman.

Hargrave does not have the long-term potential and ceiling that Payne does solely based on the fact that he is 30 years old, but Hargrave is a great short-term solution for the Bears. Hargrave is a great pass rusher at the 3-technique and could be a massive step up for the Bears compared to what they had last year.

Hargrave is coming off the best season of his career in which he was named a pro bowl alternate. Spotrac has Hargrave projected to receive a three-year $60 million dollar deal which should be a price the Bears are willing to pay.
