The Chicago Bears will be in the market for a wide receiver this off-season. Still, with Darnell Mooney and Chase Claypool in the mix, they now need a complement to both more than they need to overhaul the entire room. So, they need to be selective in free agency if they are active.

This year is not a great free agent. Still, there are some wide receivers in this group who could fit the room and become solid additions. If the Chicago Bears do dig into NFL free agency to find a wide receiver, which players should they target?

6. Would Noah Brown fit the Chicago Bears offense?

The players may change, but we do know that Ryan Poles and Luke Getsy have their preferences for a wide receiver. Small details, such as being in the right place, and running your route at the right depth matter more than the highlight-worthy catch to overshadow those issues.

The two also value blocking based on the additions of Equanimeous St. Brown, Byron Pringle, and N’Keal Harry. One of the next wide receivers that you think of when you think of a great blocking wideout is Noah Brown. This is why he obviously will be on the Chicago Bears’ radar.

With Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard, the Dallas Cowboys made sure that Noah Brown was a staple on the outside. He went from 839 snaps in four seasons with Dallas to 867 last year. One of the big reasons is that they ran the ball more, and they trusted Brown there.

The other is that they drafted Jalen Tolbert, and he did not progress. The quarterback and coordinators knew that Brown would be in the right spot, and they could not say the same for Tolbert. This is what the Chicago Bears ran into with Velus Jones and someone like Dante Pettis.

So, the fans will be screaming to draft a wideout with a higher upside, but if that does fail, they need to pivot. Brown will come at a similar price tag as someone like Byron Pringle last year, and perhaps he can give what they expected from Pringle. Still, he and ESB will be competing for WR3 roles now, but in a perfect world, those two are the numbers four and five on the roster.
