8 Wide recievers the Chicago Bears could target in trade negotiations
The Chicago Bears could look to trade for Davante Adams
Let me start off by saying that I don’t think the Raiders are going to move on from Davante Adams this offseason. The chances of a trade working out between the Raiders and the Chicago Bears is probably slim. That said, Ryan Poles should consider asking what it would take if the Raiders look to move up from seventh overall in the draft to first.
This is honestly the only way I could see an Adams trade being negotiated — the first-overall pick must be in play. The Raiders were attempting to trade Derek Carr, but he refused to be traded due to his no-trade clause and was essentially released. This gives him more negotiating power but also stops his new team from having to send draft capital for him. Why agree to go to a team that needs to weaken its positioning by sending away draft capital that could be a benefit to its roster? Carr is making the right choice here.
For the Chicago Bears, the Raiders would need to be desperate to move up from seven to one. I don’t see them being that desperate with other veteran quarterbacks such as Jimmy Garoppolo being available to them via free agency. Should the Raiders decide that one of the young, rookie prospect quarterbacks makes more sense, then maybe, just maybe there is a shimmer of hope that the Bears can swing Adams in the deal for the first-overall pick. It’s very doubtful though as I’m sure the Raiders want to give their young QB an elite WR to throw to also.
