For every fan wishing and hoping the Chicago Bears would have fired head coach Matt Eberflus after the most embarrassing loss of his era in Chicago on Sunday, I've got news for you: that isn't the Bears thing to do.

We should know, by now, that the Bears won't fire a head coach midseason. They simply don't operate that way, even though it's abou time for a change. Instead, the Bears are going to do the typical Bears thing and "evaluate everything" within those walls while making changes going forward.

We know the changes that need to be made, but Eberflus isn't likely to be fired until after this season.

Now, when he and his coaching staff are finally let go, it's time for this franchise to turn a corner after following such a stale, similar process with each of the recent coaching hires. It's time for an innovator; a leader and someone who inspires, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

When Eberflus is fired, the Bears need to be ready to break the bank. But, which candidates are worth doing that with?

The Chicago Bears need to end up with one of these three head coaching candidates

Ben Johnson, Offensive Coordinator, Detroit Lions

This is the name everybody wants. But, there are conflicting reports as to whether or not Ben Johnson would want to come to Chicago. After this season, teams with head coaching vacancies are going to be lining up and ready to empty the bank for his services... and for good reason.

It isn't hard to see the effect Johnson's had on the Lions and, specifically, quarterback Jared Goff. The Lions are an absolute juggernaut. The other night, even though Goff had thrown a career-high five interceptions after playing lights-out for a historical six-game stretch, you still had the sense that Detroit had every shot to win that game against Houston.

And they did.

Everything is there for Johnson to be a successful NFL coach just like the Sean McVays, Kyle Shanahans and even Kevin O'Connells of this league. He's the next man up, and he's going to be extremely popular.

Liam Coen, Offensive Coordinator, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It would be tough to see the Tampa Bay Buccaneers let Liam Coen leave after just one year, especially considering Baker Mayfield would then be left having yet another offensive coordinator, which seems to be the story of his career.

Coen, though, is a Sean McVay disciple and has done wonders with the Tampa Bay offense, even considering their shortage in weapons at times, due to injuries. Coen has shown an incredible ability to adapt to the personnel he's got available to him and has given Baker every opportunity to succeed this season.

The use of motion, multiple backs on the field at the same time and his innate ability to scheme quite literally anyone open is more than impressive. Coen's scheme would be a breath of fresh air for Bears fans who are starving for something more.

Todd Monken, Offensive Coordinator, Baltimore Ravens

What Lamar Jackson has been doing as of late is nothing short of god-like. The Ravens offense has taken it up a notch since Todd Monken took over, and in the year and a half he's been at the forefront, Baltimore is second in the NFL in yards per play and fourth in EPA per play.

He made Georgia into one of the best and most exciting, diversely-talented offenses in the country before joining the NFL ranks in Baltimore and has been able to do the same with these Ravens. Monken's creativity is up there with some of the best offensive minds in football, and he'd be welcomed in Chicago with open arms.
