It was yet another game where it wasn't pretty for the Chicago Bears, but they were able to pull off a 19-17 win over the Minnesota Vikings, thanks to a game-winning field goal by Cairo Santos.

The win gives the Bears a 7-3 record, which is the best start for the team since 2018. It also gives them just their second NFC North victory in the last two years and temporarily moves them into first place in the division.

Chicago got some good performances from their key players, but some were not as pretty. When this team finds ways to win, the positive performances are the ones that mean the most.

Winner: Tremaine Edmunds, LB

Without T.J. Edwards in the game, Edmunds had to step up in a bigger role at linebacker, and as he has all season, he stepped up. He finished the game with nine tackles and two pass deflections, including a key deflection late in the fourth quarter. Edmunds has been the leader of this defense and continues to play like the Pro Bowler from back in Buffalo with the Bills.

Loser: Caleb Williams, QB

It's unfortunate to throw Williams in this category, but he only completed 50% of his passes for 192 yards. Granted, he made a ton of nice scrambles to get away from pressure and pick up yards on the ground, but he has to improve with his passes. There were a few drops in the game, so it isn't all on him, but the accuracy has to get better if the Bears want to beat some of the elite teams they face in the next two months.

Winner: D'Andre Swift, RB

Not quite 100 yards rushing for him, but Swift was efficient in his runs and was able to get positive yards. He finished with 90 yards on an average of 4.3 yards per game. It was an efficient game for a back who continues to look much better than he did in 2024.

Losers: Bears' Pass Rush

The Bears' defensive line struggled to generate pressure on J.J. McCarthy, recording only five quarterback hits and zero sacks in the game. It's a disappointing performance after Montez Sweat had four straight games with a sack. The Bears need to find a way to get more pressure on the quarterback moving forward.

Winner: Cairo Santos, K

Santos was busy in the game with five field goal attempts, but had a key miss in the fourth quarter. He was able to redeem himself with the game-winner with no time remaining to help the Bears win. Everyone was calling for Jake Moody, but Santos saved himself from losing his job.
