Week 2 is a critical one for the Chicago Bears as they look to avoid a 0-2 start as they face the Detroit Lions.

Chicago is coming off a 27-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1 after blowing a 17-6 fourth quarter lead. There were a few disappointing performances in the game as the Bears need them to step up against the Lions if they want to stay in the conversation early in the year as playoff contenders.

Jonah Jackson, RG

The Bears put big money on Jackson to help the interior offensive line, and he struggled in his debut. He had two penalties in the game and struggled to hold his own in pass protection. Bears fans are chalking it up to it being the first game, but improvement is much needed for Jackson.

Cairo Santos, K

Last game was not a good one for Santos, to the point that the Bears brought in competition with Jake Moody on the practice squad. Santos missed a 50-yard field goal and wasn't able to kick the ball out of the end zone late in the game on a kickoff, both happening in the fourth quarter. There isn't a player in Chicago who is more on thin ice than Santos and needs to play well against Detroit to maintain his job.

Colston Loveland, TE

Maybe it's too soon to put this kind of pressure on a rookie after just one game, but this is more about building some momentum throughout the season. Loveland had just two receptions for 12 yards, with him and Cole Kmet combining for just three catches, but Kmet had a 31-yard completion. Loveland has shown great potential, but Ben Johnson wants to get more out of his tight ends, so expect Loveland to be featured in the offense more often.

Caleb Williams, QB

The message of the offseason has been "no excuses." Williams has to stick to that, as he didn't have a bad game necessarily against the Vikings, but his 60% completion percentage needs to improve. With one game under Johnson's offense, Williams should see good progression in game two.
