4 Bears veterans that are due to let the fan base down in 2026

For the most part, everything went right for the Chicago Bears in 2025, as everyone stepped up and played a role in making the playoffs.

The roster remained mostly intact, with the same group that went 11-6 and won the NFC North last year. Still, there is one question no fan has been thinking about that might have to get brought up before the season begins.

This one is just to protect the fan base from not experiencing complete heartbreak, as there will be Bears players who are due for a disappointing 2026 season. So, who are the four players most likely to have let down seasons in 2026 for the Bears?

D'Andre Swift, RB

Swift had a career season for the Bears as he rushed for 1,087 yards and nine touchdowns while adding another 299 receiving yards and one score to cap off a great year. Eventually, though, his production will drop, mostly because Kyle Monangai has been taking carries away from him and could see more action in 2026. Many believe this will be Swift's last year, and if his numbers drop, it will make it easier for the Bears to let him go.

Kyler Gordon, CB

The signs are already there for a massive letdown as he is dealing with his soft-tissue injury again after playing just three games last season. It's a shame because when Gordon is on the field, he's one of the top 10 best nickel corners in the NFL, but this injury bug doesn't seem to go away. Last year, he got a pass with his first major injury, but this year, if he misses more games, the letdown is on with him, and Bears fans will have to question his future with the franchise.

Braxton Jones, OT

Last year was already kind of a disappointment for Jones, but an injury derailed any shot of him making a comeback. There has been a lot of buzz surrounding how he is feeling and doing going into the 2026 season. With that being said, Jones will most likely take back his left tackle job for the time being, but there is a feeling that he is about to have a rough season after what has been seen in the past.

T.J. Edwards, LB

Granted, Edwards has not exactly lived up to expectations over the years with the Bears, but he has still continued to be one of the team's leading tacklers. This might be the year where Chicago realizes that it's the end for him and should let him go in the offseason. If it wasn't for his contract situation, he might have walked out the door with Tremaine Edmunds together, but the chances of Edwards disappointing the Bears fan base in 2026 seem pretty high.
