1. The Chicago Bears need to see Tyrique Stevenson take the next step
It is hard to get too caught up in Tyrique Stevenson's statistics. It is hard playing across from Jaylon Johnson because it means that a majority of the targets are coming your way. Still, if there were a weak point in the secondary, right now it is Stevenson.
Stevenson is allowing 14.3 yards per completion and eight yards per target. That is on 34 targets. Jaylon Johnson is allowing 13.4 yards per completion and 5.9 yards per target on just 16 targets.
Last year Stevenson allowed 11.9 yards per completion and 7.2 yards per target, so these stats are a bit worse than the rookie version of himself. His missed tackle rate is also up from 9.5% to 13.3%.
It has not been a major issue because the rest of the defense has been so solid. Also, Stevenson does not consistently give up big plays, he is just the weakest area for teams to attack.
