The Chicago Bears have completed training camp and their second and final joint practice with the Tennessee Titans.
Things got chippy in practice with the Titans calling foul on safety Xavier Woods, which should lead to an interesting preseason finale between the two teams. It was an overall good day of work, highlighted by more defensive injuries for the Bears, with Austin Booker and Gervon Dexter both not practicing, plus additional guys hurt (which we'll talk about in a bit).
Still, the joint practice produced plenty of winners and losers. Here are the six players we examined for having a good or a bad day there.
Winners and losers from Bears' joint practice with the Titans
Winner: Colston Loveland, TE
Titans reporters gave Loveland a ton of praise for how he looked during the joint practice. It really shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to the Bears fans, though, as the young tight end is looking to leap in 2026. This is just another reminder of how good he is about to become in this offense.
Loser: Jaylon Johnson, CB
It just wouldn't be a typical Bears practice without some starter getting hurt. Johnson had a right arm injury that took him out of the joint practice early, while his other starting cornerback, Tyrique Stevenson, also had an injury to his leg but appeared to be okay. The Bears fan base would really love it if the injuries stopped here.
Winner: Cam Lewis, DB
Even with Johnson and Stevenson out, Lewis stepped up to the plate and gave Bears fans some ease of mind in the secondary. He got an interception off of Titans starting quarterback Cam Ward during the practice. Lewis might have a chance to play a big role in this defense in 2026, given the rate of injuries the Bears are facing.
Loser: Braxton Jones, LT
This left tackle position battle is really becoming more of a headache because Jones isn't running away with the job. He struggled mightily against the Titans' defensive line, making things way worse at the position. Ozzy Trapilo can't come in any sooner because Jones isn't having a good close to training camp.
Winner: Sam Roush, TE
Loveland wasn't the only tight end dominating the joint practice. How about the rookie stepping in with a deep ball pass and, a few plays later, catching a back-shoulder completion for a touchdown? Trust us when we say Roush is more than a blocking tight end, and he can play receiver better than people give him credit for.
Bears TE Sam Roush is out here making plays. He caught a deep ball in 11-on-11s with the backup offense. Case Keenum with the pass.

A few plays later, Roush caught a back shoulder pass in the left portion of the end zone from Keenum. The Bears' sideline erupted with excitement.

Winner: Caleb Williams, QB
A theme throughout training camp is that Williams dominates practices. He got off to a fast start, completing 9-of-11 passes, and his two incompletions were a throwaway and a dropped pass, with eight different players getting completions. Adding in two touchdowns in the red zone drill, Bears fans have even more proof that Williams is on his way to being elite in 2026.
