The Chicago Bears looked very different in Week 2 of the preseason, as they dominated the 2024 AFC champion runner-up Buffalo Bills 38-0.
Chicago finished with nearly 500 yards of total offense with a perfect balance of the run and pass. The Bears also played a pretty clean game with penalties with just five while the Bills doubled that number.
Fans' favorite part of a game like this is there are so many winners and very few losers on the Bears.
Winner: Caleb Williams, QB
Williams had to get acknowledgement of his great game against the Bears. He finished with six completions out of 10 attempts for 107 yards and one touchdown. There aren't many complaints about Williams as he looked poised in the pocket, got the ball out quickly, and showed he understood Ben Johnson's offense. Bears fans couldn't have asked for a better start for Williams.
Loser: Travis Homer, RB
All hope is becoming lost for Homer, who continues to find himself in a bad position at depth. Brittain Brown and Ian Wheeler shone against the Bills as the two combined for 153 rushing yards and three touchdowns. It's no longer a matter of if; it's about when Homer loses his job in Chicago.
Winner: Austin Booker, DE
Booker continues to be an absolute monster to block on the line. He finished with two tackles, one tackle for loss, one quarterback hit, one pass deflection, and one sack. With four sacks to his name in two preseason games, Booker needs to start being in the conversation to actually begin on the Bears and not just in the rotation with Montez Sweat and Dayo Odeyingbo.
Winner: Tyler Scott, WR
Last week, it was the Maurice Alexander and Jahdae Walker show, but against Buffalo, it was Scott getting in on the action. Scott finished with three receptions for 54 yards and one touchdown, including a 35-yard catch. The Bears are already deep at wide receiver, but Scott got himself back in the conversation to try to make the 53-man roster.

Winner: Ben Johnson, Head Coach
Johnson made a good first impression against the Dolphins, but beating down a solid Bills team, even if it is preseason, is still impressive. The offense had over 350 yards in the first half with the quarterbacks Williams and Bagent having their way with the secondary. It's easy to start seeing how he was successful with the Detroit Lions the last three years with the offense in Chicago only going to get better.
