7 2025 NFL Draft prospects the Chicago Bears can rule out after free agency

Now that the Chicago Bears have made the most of their free agency move, the attention will slowly shift back to the NFL draft. The Bears filled a need in free agency, so were they able to cross off some players in consideration for the tenth overall pick?

Will Campbell

If you remember back to Ryan Poles' drafting Darnell Wright over Peter Skorinski, you will remember that the Bears value arm length at tackle and they likely view Will Campbell as a guard. A guard in the top ten is questionable on its own, but with the Bears adding two big names at guard, it makes it so much harder to see Campbell selected for Chicago.

Tyler Booker

Tyler Booker is in the same boat as Campbell. When the Bears had no guards, he was a trendy pick here. However, there is no debate about where Booker will play, he is a guard. The Bears' free-agency actions make him an extremely unlikely pick.

The top defensive tackles

This draft is loaded with defensive tackle talent, and there is a top tier after Mason Graham featuring Walter Nolan, Derrick Harmon, and Kenneth Grant. All of them could have been considered the top player on the board when Chicago picked, and they lacked so much interior depth that the pick would be justified.

However, the addition of Grady Jarrett should have the team looking in another direction. The depth of the defensive tackle class could have fans expecting the team to avoid this spot in round one.

Mykel Williams

This has less to do with the free agent moves and more to do with the Georgia Pro Day, which took place on Wednesday. Williams posted a 4.73 40 at his Pro Day, which is a fine number, but it is not quite the number we would want to see from a top-ten pick. Williams has had injuries and production questions at Georgia, so when you add in that he is not an elite athlete, he does not check enough top ten boxes. If the Bears take an edge rusher tenth, it would likely be James Pearce or Shemar Stewart before Williams.
