The way the Chicago Bears kicked off the first day of NFL free agency certainly had the fan base buzzing.
The Bears began the legal tampering period, right away, by signing the top free agent center on the market in Drew Dalman, thus completing their starting offensive line. Throughout the day, Chicago made additions up front on the defensive side as well.
Signing both Grady Jarrett and Dayo Odeyingbo to come in and reinforce the defensive line, the Bears were not messing around.
This fan base was justifiably excited.
Who wasn't exactly excited, though, is one of Ben Johnson's former players. Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown spoke up about the moves Chicago has made, thus far, on his recent podcast episode.
"Bro I feel like the Bears have unlimited f***ing money. This s*** crazy," he said to his brother on the latest episode of the St. Brown Podcast.
Ryan Poles has officially caught Detroit's attention with a masterful offseason thus far
"They're just signing new s*** for like 40, 50 million dollars. Joe Thuney, boom. Jonah Jackson, bang. Drew Dalman, bang," he continued. "They have unlimited money. What the f*** is this? Ben (Johnson) just making moves left and right. I'm just like, 'f***.'"
Clearly, the Bears have one of their rivals flustered, and that's saying something. St. Brown is one of the league's most fierce competitors and he knows Detroit is a powerhouse.
But at the same time, the Lions have lost a whole lot of talent this offseason, specifically from their coaching staff. Now, he's watching his old pal Ben at the helm in Chicago, and it's definitely irritated the Lions wideout.
He's not wrong, though. The Bears have been making moves left and right. Adding Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson before the free agency period even kicked off was massive for the Bears.
But Poles didn't stop there. In fact, he was only getting started.
Bears fans probably echo St. Brown's thoughts, though. This fan base isn't used to Chicago doing all the right things, and so far, that's what Poles has done. He's attacked the trenches with a relentless mentality, and we haven't even gotten through the bulk of free agency, let alone the draft.
It is going to be a lot of fun watching what Poles continues to do with so many resources still within his reach, including four draft picks in the top 72, as many fans know by now.
