Bears already have their game of the year circled even before the schedule release

And I bet you do too.

There are a lot of Bears games to look forward to in 2025. In fact, I'd argue considering how different and new this team will look, you could make a decent case for any game on the schedule. Even the Raiders game kinda looks interesting now!

But there's one game to rule them all. And interestingly enough, it's not either of the Packers matchups. Those will be standard issue stuff compared to the vibes of this game. There probably hasn't been a more important game in the history of the Chicago Bears than this game. This game is the Super Bowl of games that aren't the Super Bowl. And even then, it might be bigger than the Super Bowl. (And when I say 'might,' what I mean is 'definitely.')

2025's Bears-Commanders game is going to be must-watch television

There it is. Commanders-Bears. The game that quite literally changed the trajectory of two franchises. The game that launched Jaylen Daniels and the Commanders into stardom while sending Tyrique Stevenson and the Bears into the shadowy internet hell that meme lore is made of. I honestly do not think there's a bigger game on the Bears' schedule โ€“ย there may be more important ones, but I bet if you asked 10 Bears fans, right now, which game they absolutely want, eight of them would say that one; the other two would just be 63-year old local radio hosts who start loudly ranting about the Packers and Papa Bear Halas, so we can take that for exactly what it's worth.

Also, there's no way Rams-Ravens is bigger than Bears-Commanders. The other games, I can get behind โ€“ they all feature some sort of narrative that's especially topical for the current NFL era. But Rams-Ravens is just two good teams kicking off at, presumably, 845. Bears-Commanders is a cursed game that changed the outcome of two major cities last year โ€“ that's what cable television sports are all about. If anyone here knows someone in the NFL and can get that switched, I'd be awfully appreciative. At least everyone agrees it's more interesting than Broncos-Texans.
