Bears defense gets weird slap in the face from Madden 26 ratings

This is... odd

The Chicago Bears Madden 26 ratings might not mean much to you, but this rating is just a flat-out wild, weird one given to a consistent veteran.

This is one of the more crucial years in the history of the Chicago Bears, and while this team still feels dysfunctional, GM Ryan Poles has built a very good roster with few holes. However, it's up to the brand-new coaching staff to get this team on the right track.

And with talent on either side of the ball, that might not be challenging. Well, while Chicago's defense appears to be one of the stronger units in the NFC, Madden 26 seems to be quite low on this consistent veteran on the backend.

Kevin Byard given a measly 81 rating for Madden 26

Kevin Byard has been one of the best safeties the NFL has seen over the last decade and played his tail off for the Chicago Bears in the 2024 NFL Season. He racked up one interception, seven passes defended, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, two sacks, 130 total tackles, and five tackles for loss in 17 games played.

By all accounts, he was excellent, but Madden 26 gave him a very disrespectful 81 rating.

Byard is actually outside the top-20 in Madden 26 among all safeties with his 81 rating, and it just does not make any sense if you ask me. Numerous players rated above Byard simply were not as productive as he was in the 2024 NFL Season.

And while we're at it, this kind of plays into the Chicago Bears being underrated as a whole. This roster is loaded with talent, and if Ben Johnson and his coaching staff are the right people for the job, this team is going to be a lot better than expected in the 2025 NFL Season.
