The Bears' draft has Cole Kmet, among others, in an awkward spot on the roster

The 2025 NFL draft is in the rearview mirror, and while there were clear winners among the Chicago Bears' roster, there are players who may now be questioning their roles moving forward.

Two wide receivers lost their jobs this weekend

The selection of Luther Burden has two Bears receivers on notice. Oldamide Zaccheus figured to open the season as the Bears' slot wide receiver, but that seems to have taken a backseat to Lurther Burden's arrival.

Worse than that, Tyler Scott may not even make the roster. He was already looking at a depth role, and he does not provide much on special teams. With Devin Duvernay and Miles Boykin excelling in those roles, Scott may have had a hard time making it already. With Burden in the mix, it is easy to cut him out.

Zacch Pickens may not make the Bears' roster

Zacch Pickens has been a complete dud through two NFL seasons. So, it is not a shock that the Bears signed Grady Jarrett and then drafted Shemar Turner on day two of the draft. These additions, combined with the reality that Pickens was not as good as Chris Williams last year, make it hard to find a spot on the roster for the third-year former third-rounder.

Cole Kmet will have a bad year in 2025

Cole Kmet is the obvious loser of the draft. After day one, the thought was that Kmet would remain an inline tight end, and Colston Loveland would take a lot of slot snaps, considering that is his best trait entering the NFL. However, with Luther Burden in the mix, the number of 12-personnel snaps is going down significantly.

So, Kmet was already on track for a career-low in targets, but now he may also be set for a career-low in snaps.
