When football fans think of the Chicago Bears, typically, they think about great defense and gritty offensive play on the ground. Excitement wouldn't be the first adjective to pop up.
Last year was a prime example of how the Bears' offense was not so much fun to watch after they finished last in total offense with 284.6 yards per game. They were also the most sacked team in the NFL with 68 and tied for 29th in scoring, averaging 18.2 points per game.
The Bears did make some fun signings in the offseason, with Ben Johnson bringing his exciting offensive style to Chicago. Colston Loveland and Luther Burden III will create some entertaining moments for the future after the Bears selected them in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Overall, though, the Bears don't have the explosive playmakers that other teams like the Cincinnati Bengals, Philadelphia Eagles, and Minnesota Vikings have on offense to classify them as "exciting." That might be okay with fans.
Bears ranked in the bottom half of entertaining teams in 2025
USA Today NFL reporter Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz ranked every NFL team based on who is the most entertaining and the least entertaining going into 2025. While not ranked last, the Bears were placed at 18th in Middlehurst-Schwartz's list.
"This is the Ben Johnson boost at work. The offensive mastermind has stirred as much excitement as there's been for the Bears in nearly two decades, and his pairing with Caleb Williams will assuredly be one of the NFL's most fascinating partnerships to watch this season. Still, with so many new elements that need to coalesce and a downright diabolical division, there could be a lot of headwinds in the Windy City."
Outside of the Loveland and Burden selections, wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus was the only other playmaker signed onto the offense. The Bears focused more on adding new starters on the offensive and defensive lines.
Bears franchise quarterback Caleb Williams still has enough excitement in him to bring in fans and make plays when needed. He's got D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze to throw it to, even if they aren't ranked in the top 10 of wide receivers in the NFL.

Johnson is expected to bring the same mentality that his former boss, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell, had: being aggressive on fourth down and pushing the ball down the field. The Bears aim to replicate the success the Lions have achieved over the past three years.
Chicago doesn't have the man power that other teams do in the NFL, but give this team time and the Bears will be higher in the rankings going into 2026.
