The Chicago Bears might have major concerns heading into the 2026 season, but at least they have some good problems to solve.
They have a wide receiver room filled with talent. Chicago has Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III, and Kalif Raymond starting. The questions have been more about who makes it beyond that.
Jahdae Walker and rookie Zavion Thomas feel like locks to make it as well, but those two have created a major problem on the roster. They have been good right off the bat so that the Bears may face an impossible decision next week.
Bears face an interesting situation at WR that won't end well for them
Here's the problem: the Bears have way too many good wide receivers, which might make it hard to decide who to keep and who to let go. They first need to decide whether they want five or six wide receivers on the team.
Kaden Davis is at the top of the list to either make the roster or be an easy choice for the practice squad. The problem with Davis is that he has played so well that he's most likely to sign with another team if he is made available.
There are three other receivers that are considered really good for the Bears: Maurice Alexander, JP Richardson, and Scotty Miller. Those three have been the most consistent among the receivers. Alexander and Richardson look primed to be on the practice squad, but Miller has a better shot at being claimed if he is waived.
Ray-Ray McCloud is another name worth monitoring. McCloud had a great first preseason game against the Cleveland Browns, catching three passes for 63 yards. He was shut out in the Cincinnati Bengals preseason game, though, leaving him more on the outside looking in.
This is a big problem for the Bears heading into the final week of the preseason, but it forces some tough decisions. Walker caused this same problem last year as an undrafted rookie with his great preseason. It appears the same thing is happening with Davis.

At least this is a problem the Bears can handle, but it could hurt them if they get it wrong. They have a lot of choices, and the final preseason game against the Tennessee Titans will help them figure things out.
