It may seem a bit picky at this time to dissect what could be going wrong for a Chicago Bears team that has won four straight and is sitting at 4-2, but last year was the same situation —and look what happened.
There are plenty of positives with the running game starting to pick up steam at the right time. It's been two consecutive games of the team hitting season-highs in rushing yards (145 in Week 6 and 222 in Week 7). They might finally be getting the best out of running back D'Andre Swift with back-to-back 100-yard games for the Bears.
Some praise is due to the offensive line, which has significantly improved its pass blocking and protection of Caleb Williams. Since Theo Benedet has taken over at left tackle, the unit has also improved in run blocking, with the already-mentioned great rushing performances.
While there are plenty of good things coming from the Bears' offense, they need to address some struggles if they want to keep this win streak going against some of the NFL's elite teams.
Ben Johnson tells it like it is with the offense
Bears head coach Ben Johnson spoke with the media, where they asked him about running the football more against their upcoming opponents, the Baltimore Ravens. Johnson wants to be able to do that, but knows the offense has to fix some things to get there.
"Throughout the season we have been behind the sticks quite a bit. If we can stay on schedule, stay on track this thing is going to come to life. We have to be better in the red zone. We have been settling for field goals the last couple of weeks."
Johnson has a fair point about the team struggling in the red zone. The Bears' offense has only scored touchdowns in 50% of their red zone appearances, ranking 21st in the NFL.
Chicago had to settle for four field goals by Jake Moody in the Saints game, with his longest kick being from 39 yards. Even in the Commanders game, Moody attempted five field goals, making four of them and missing one from 48 yards.
Even the penalties have not helped this offense, as it has caused them to get behind the sticks. Chicago had five false-start penalties and an offensive pass interference call in the Saints game.

If the Bears can clean up the little things on offense, they can get back on track and be even better than they are right now. That's a scary thought for the other 31 NFL teams.
