Bears FG nightmares continue with embarrassing blunder against Vikings
If there was one thing the Bears worked on after their Week 11 loss to the Packers, you'd think it'd be field goal stuff. I'm not smart enough to know what field goal stuff exactly, but you'd have to imagine they worked on it during the last few days of practice.
So when Cairo Santos and the rest of the Bears' field goal unit lined up for a field goal midway through the first half of Sunday's game against the Vikings, there was a sense of confidence in the air at Soldier Field. The Bears (and the Packers, for that matter) identified what went wrong last week, addressed it during practice, and now were in a great position to prove that they are, in fact, a well-coached team.

Plus, Bears fans weren't expecting much. At this point in the season, something as simple as "blocking the right guys" would go a long way. It was a great moment to renew a little bit of faith in the team's professionalism over the last few weeks of the season. So with all that in mind, let's see how this easy field goal went!
The Bears had yet another field goal blocked in the exact same way as Week 11
Ah! Well, nevertheless.
What I like most about this block is that it is almost exactly the same block as Week 11s. At least they're on the right hashmark this time?? And people say Eberflus doens't pay attention to the details. Otherwise, it is the exact same block. If Bears fans had any hope or enthusiasm for this season left in their body, it'd almost make them wonder about what's going on at practice.
But fortunately for the Bears, everyone is deeply numb at this point. It actually kinda makes this whole thing funnier? Think about how, in six weeks, we're all just having a nice laugh about that time the Bears had two straight field goals blocked in the exact same way. And how they had an entire week to fix the problem that the Packers quite literally pointed out, and nothing happened. In a way, it's a wonderful metaphor for the Matt Eberflus era. In a way, I'll miss it when it's gone.
