Another week of injuries for the Chicago Bears, as this time they will be without three defensive players for their Week 10 showdown with the New York Giants.
The biggest name on the injury report is linebacker T.J. Edwards, who is dealing with a broken hand. Bears head coach Ben Johnson announced before the report's release that Edwards had surgery on his hand and is wearing a cast, but will not be placed on IR.
Defensive back Josh Blackwell (concussion) and defensive lineman Dominique Robinson (ankle) are the other two players out for the game. Blackwell has been more of a contributor on special teams, and Robinson has been a rotational player on the line.
Two players are listed as questionable for the game, including running back D'Andre Swift (ankle) and tight end Durham Smythe (calf). Swift missed last week's win over the Cincinnati Bengals due to the same ankle injury and did not practice on Friday, as it was noted that he was absent from practice for a personal reason. Smythe is a new injury that only arose on the final workout, as he was limited in practice.
Bears got most of their starters back with some concerns about Edwards and Swift
Edwards is a significant loss for the defense as he has been great, but has had injury issues all season. Noah Sewell will most likely be his replacement for the game against the Giants.
Swift's injury stings for the offense, but Kyle Monangai's emergence and Roschon Johnson's return from his back injury could influence the Bears to sit Swift out for one more week. Monangai rushed for 176 yards against the Bengals, so he can handle the starting reps.

The Bears always seem to be dealing with some kind of injury, but they have been resilient with a 5-3 record, so expect the "next man up" mentality to be on full display in Week 10.
