Well, well, well. Things aren't looking so great in Chicago right now for the Bears.
The final injury report for Week 3 came out for the Bears, and they have five players who are out for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys.
- Kiran Amegadjie, OL (Elbow)
- T.J. Edwards, LB (Hamstring)
- Kyler Gordon, CB (Hamstring)
- Jaylon Johnson, CB (Groin)
- Jaylon Jones, DB (Hamstring)
There are also two players who are being listed as questionable for the game: linebacker D'Marco Jackson (hamstring) and running back D'Andre Swift (quad). Others on the injury report include defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (knee) and wide receiver Jahdae Walker (ankle), but they have no injury designation, so they are expected to play.
Chicago's defense is in rough shape for Cowboys game
Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen will undoubtedly have his work cut out for him. His secondary is depleted with two starters injured and out. Johnson was expected, as he might miss the whole season, but Gordon is now set to miss his third straight game. Jones is also a tough loss for depth purposes.
After missing the Bears' Week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Edwards returned to the field in last week's loss to the Detroit Lions. He never practiced all week, which raises some more questions about his injury.
Amegadjie hasn't seen much of the field at all this year, so he is, also like Jones, a hit to their depth of the offensive line. Especially with the recent concerns about the play of the line, they need everyone available to be ready to play.
Swift's questionable status is concerning, but he has at least practiced each day with limits. It does feel as though he is still closer to being good to play versus missing the game.
