The NFL Scouting Combine is behind us, and with that, the relevance of the 2025 NFL Mock Drafts does tick up ever so slightly.
For the Bears, it would seem that the direction they go in with the No. 10 selection in the 2025 NFL Draft will be based on what they do in free agency. The expectation over the weekend was that the Bears are going to spend heavily on interior offensive line help during the early days of free agency next week. In a world where the Bears add a center in Drew Dalman and a guard such as Kevin Zeitler, that would give the team added flexibility in the first round.
One draft expert who doesn't expect the Bears to fully address their offensive line needs in free agency is Dane Brugler of The Athletic. In his latest mock draft following the combine, Brugler has the Bears taking Alabama guard Tyler Booker with the No. 10 pick in the draft. Despite Booker being undersized, Brugler feels that teams will put more stock into his game tape with the Crimson Tide and how that may translate to the NFL level. Brugler also suggests Booker may ascend quickly toward being a locker room leader for the Bears.
Of course, anyone who followed Booker's press conference in Indianapolis last week shouldn't be surprised to see him project as a locker room reader. Booker coined one of the best quotes of the week at the combine when he mentioned the thing he loves most about football is taking that love away from another player.
Tyler Booker would be a reach for the Bears at No. 10 in the 2025 NFL Draft
Brugler's mock draft saw offensive tackles Armand Membou and Will Campbell taken at No. 4 and No. 5. Meanwhile, Ashton Jeanty went off the board at No. 6 to the Las Vegas Raiders. With defensive tackle Mason Graham and tight end Tyler Warren also taken ahead of the Bears' selection, if this is the scenario that plays out for the Bears, the expectation should be that the team will trade back. A trade back to the middle of the first round should still put the Bears in a position to grab Booker.
