As usual, it wouldn't be a Chicago Bears 2025 injury report without a bunch of players on the list hurt.
The first injury report for Week 10 has been released, revealing that a whopping seven players are not practicing with the team. On defense, safety Kevin Byard (back/ankle) and linebacker T.J. Edwards (hand/hamstring) lead the list. For the offense, wide receivers Rome Odunze (ankle/heel) and DJ Moore (hip/groin) did not work out.
Chicago provided some good news, with tight end Cole Kmet and wide receiver Luther Burden both returning to practice after concussions, although Kmet was limited and Burden was a full participant. The backfield is banged up with three running backs limited in the first practice, including Roschon Johnson (back), Kyle Monangai (ankle), and D'Andre Swift (groin).

A lot to unpack with good news and bad news
It's good to see Kmet and Burden back on the field as they will give Caleb Williams more weapons on offense. Burden missed the Bears' 47-42 win over the Cincinnati Bengals with his concussion, while Kmet came back from missing the Baltimore Ravens game, but got hurt again in the Bengals match.
While Moore and Odunze are not at practice, it doesn't mean they won't play, as they did the exact same thing last week. It will be the second injury report that will determine the status of the two players regarding their playing ability.
The running backs are a bit scary, but it looks like Swift could be back this week for Chicago. Whether he starts will be another question after Monangai had a breakout game with 176 yards against the Bengals.
Defensively, not having Edwards or Byard really hurts the backside of the unit. The good news at linebacker is that Noah Sewell has already started in Edwards' place this year, so he could fill in if it's bad. Byard's situation is different, as the secondary can't afford to take any more injuries with three cornerbacks already on IR.

The hope for Chicago is that the injury reports will improve throughout the week with more players practicing, but it's a rough start to the week.
