The belief level for the Chicago Bears in 2025 is not very high, as most believe this is a seven-to-10-win team, but nothing more. There might be a bit too much disbelief in the Bears to the point that they haven't stepped on the field and already find themselves low in the rankings.
FanSided's Lou Scataglia shared NFL Spin Zone's Week 2 power rankings, where the Bears find themselves actually dropping in the rankings. They went from 19th going into the season last week to now 21st.
"The Chicago Bears host the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL Season on Monday Night Football, so it’s the last game of the week. The Bears hope to take advantage of JJ McCarhy making his first NFL start. He is still, in some ways, a rookie, so the Bears’ defense should be all over the Vikings’ offense, but with how dysfunctional this team was in 2024, it’s hard for us to rank them much higher without seeing the result of that Week 1 game. Chicago is 21st in our latest NFL power rankings."
Too much disrespect for the Bears entering the season?
If people are still working off of last year's 5-12 team, it's somewhat understandable since the Bears haven't played on the field in the regular season, but the team is entirely different from last year. Chicago has added three new interior offensive linemen in the starting lineup, two difference-making rookies on offense, and two defensive linemen who can pressure the quarterback.
Bears head coach Ben Johnson has compeltely changed the culture around in Chicago where he is making sure everyone is being held accountable and they are doing the small things right. Johnson will get tough on any of his 53 players, including his quarterback, Caleb Williams.
The preseason was a good indication of things to come with a 2-0-1 record. Johnson's offense showed it will be more play action and quick passes, while the defense is going to be tough to run on with that front seven.

Chicago has moved on from the Matt Eberflus disaster and onto the bright future with Johnson. They have a chance to prove everyone wrong against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night.
