Bears' initial Week 13 injury report did nothing to make fans feel better

Not a great start.

The dreaded first injury report. It has haunted Chicago Bears fans all season because it always seems incredibly long and painful to look at.

For Week 13, the Bears had a walkthrough, so all the statuses are estimations. A total of six players were listed as "did not practice", including starters T.J. Edwards and Tyrique Stevenson on defense.

The good news is that some starters were listed as "full participants" with cornerbacks Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon progressing well. Left tackle Theo Benedet was also a full participant in practice.

11/25/2025 Bears' Week 13 Injury Report (Estimation)

  • T.J. Edwards, LB (Hand/Hamstring, DNP)
  • Ruben Hyppolite, LB (Shoulder, DNP)
  • Luke Newman, OL (Foot, DNP)
  • Dominique Robinson, DL (Concussion, DNP)
  • Noah Sewell, LB (Elbow, DNP)
  • Tyrique Stevenson, CB (Hip, DNP)
  • Theo Benedet, LT (Quad, Full)
  • Kyler Gordon, CB (Calf, Full)
  • Travis Homer, RB (Hamstring/Knee, Full)
  • Jaylon Johnson, CB (Groin, Full)
  • Kyle Monangai, R (Knee, Full)

Bears still have a ton of injuries to work through

The linebacker position is still a mess with Edwards hurt and not practicing. Sewell and Hyppolite being added on makes it even worse, with the top four linebackers now out for the team.

Chicago got some good play, though, from D'Marco Jackson and Amen Ogbongbemiga, who stepped up for those injuries. They combined for 29 tackles in the 31-28 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 12.

Johnson and Gordon's progress looks great, and with Stevenson now in danger of missing Week 13 against the Philadelphia Eagles, it might be time to activate both players. That was the initial plan for them last week, but fans will have to see how it goes with what they actually do.

The injury report is technically improving from the last few weeks, but all eyes are on the linebackers and what the final decisions will be before the Eagles game.
