The Chicago Bears are preparing for their Week 7 Thursday Night Football showdown with the New England Patriots, with key injury news ahead of the contest.
This season has been considerably better for the Bears in terms of injuries than it was last year, but there are still some key players to watch who are dealing with injuries.
From Kyle Monangai's toe to Jonah Jackson's hip/quad, the Bears are navigating some of their top injuries. Here's how all six players on the injury report are doing going into the contest.
Jonah Jackson will gut it out and play for the Bears in Week 7
Jackson left early in the Bears' Week 6 win over the Atlanta Falcons with a hip/quad injury. Luke Newman replaced him and finished the game at right guard.
At the start of the week, it didn't look like Jackson would play, as ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler said he would be week-to-week. Then the Bears' final injury report said he was a full participant on Wednesday and had no injury designation.

Having Jackson in the lineup is huge for the offensive line, as he is having the best season of his career. In 244 pass-blocking snaps, he has allowed nine pressures and one quarterback hit. Pro Football Focus gave him an 83.7 overall grade, ranking him sixth among 77 eligible guards.
It's big for Jackson to be coming back, but his ability to gut it out through the injury speaks to his toughness. Bears fans hope he can stay healthy.
Kyle Monangai is close to returning, but will miss third straight game
Monangai was one of the two Bears players who has been ruled out for the Patriots game with his thumb/toe injury, but the main concern is the toe. This will be the third game he has missed in a row since the injury.
This season, Monangai has rushed for 324 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 5.4 yards per carry. He was in the top-10 in the NFL in rushing yards and touchdowns before his injury.
It will be D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson carrying the load in the backfield for the time being, but it may not last long. The latest update from NFL insider Ian Rapoport seems to be that Monangai could be coming back in the next week, so something to keep an eye on for Bears fans.

Looking over rest of Bears' injured players
In the other big injury news, linebacker T.J. Edwards was listed as doubtful and will most likely not play a second straight game with the hamstring injury. D'Marco Jackson will be replacing Edwards in the lineup if he truly can't go.
Another linebacker, Jack Sanborn, will not be playing in the game with a concussion, as he was not able to clear it quick enough. That is more of a hit with the special teams unit for the Bears.
Cornerback Tyrique Stevenson is listed as questionable with the hip injury. If Stevenson can't go, it will be Malik Muhammad starting on the outside.

The only other injury news to note is linebacker Keyshaun Elliott is cleared and good to play with the quad injury. Elliott most likely will fill in on special teams for Sanborn.
