Another practice in the books, and the Chicago Bears are looking better in the health department than they did on Wednesday.
Chicago released its second injury report of the week, with encouraging signs that players are improving ahead of their Week 9 showdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Still, not everything was great, as a new addition could complicate things.
Here is a look at the latest injury report and the subtle changes that were made to it.
Bears second injury report before Week 9 showdown with Buccaneers
Before we get into the individual players on the report, there are some we won't highlight some for several reasons.
Running back Zavier Scott was removed from the injury report after being placed on IR with a wrist injury. Linebacker T.J. Edwards was a full participant after missing Wednesday's practice for a personal reason, so there's no reason to highlight that. Lastly, Joe Thuney was added to the report, but it's a veteran's rest day, so that isn't a true injury either.
Kyle Monangai, RB (Thumb/Toe)
Thursday Practice Status: DNP
It's now the second straight day that Monangai has missed practice after not working out on Wednesday. This continues his over four week streak of not practicing for the Bears.
With Scott on IR, that complicates the running back situation that only has D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson remaining in the room. Expect to Bears to look at potentially adding one more running back if Monangai misses Friday's practice.
D'Marco Jackson, LB (Ankle)
Thursday Practice Status: DNP
Jackson is the new addition to the injury report, but has been banged up over the last few weeks. He is dealing with an ankle injury that now puts his status for Week 9 up in the air.
The good news is that the Bears are still covered at linebacker with Devin Bush and T.J. Edwards still there. With Edwards fully practicing, Chicago might be fine at the position if Jackson can't play.
Theo Benedet, OT (Shoulder)
Thursday Practice Status: Limited
This is a big one for the Bears to see Benedet back at practice and appearing to be somewhat okay. He missed Wednesday's practice with what many thought was potentially a separated shoulder, but he seems to be okay for the moment.
Ozzy Trapilo is the backup plan at left tackle, but as he continues to work through his injury from the playoffs last year, the Bears would prefer Benedet to play. If everything goes according to play, Benedet should be okay to stay in the lineup.
Grady Jarrett, DT (Groin)
Thursday Practice Status: Limited
Jarrett is back in practice after missing Wednesday's workout. He left the Bears' 34-17 win over the Seattle Seahawks game on Monday early with the groin injury.
Typically this season, Jarrett has missed at least one practice for a veteran's rest day. It appears that he might have his with the injury on Wednesday and is now working his way back.

Malik Muhammad, CB (Toe)
Thuesday Practice Status: Limited
Another encouraging injury update with two days of practice for Muhammad. Both days were limited, though, so it is not a forgone consusion that he will be back after missing the Seahawks game.
Jaylon Johnson and Tyrique Stevenson can hold down the outside corner positions if they need to, but the Bears want their fourth-round rookie to return. Bears fans will have to wait and see what Friday's injury report brings.
