The offseason is only just starting but there are several superstar names already on the trade block.

Over the course of the past week, the likes of Myles Garrett, Cooper Kupp, Micah Parsons, and Deebo Samuel have all hit the trade market.

In the case of Parsons, the Dallas Cowboys haven't made the superstar pass-rusher available yet but have had internal conversations regarding a potential move.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers have respectively given the permission of Kupp and Samuel to seek trades.

Garrett has requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns but the Browns have yet to show any desire to move their franchise cornerstone.

Given the aggressive nature of how Ryan Poles has addressed holes on the roster in the past, with trades for Montez Sweat and Keenan Allen in recent years, many Bears fans are quick to throw the team in the mix whenever a superstar becomes available through trade.

While Brad Biggs did entertain the idea that the Bears would likely check the box of the superstars available this offseason, he has his doubts that the team will use current draft capital for an aging superstar.

Bears' offseason focus should be on building the trenches

If the Bears had a complete roster, the case can certainly be made that the team should make an aggressive move for one of the available superstars. However, the Bears are entering an offseason where they will likely need to add, at least, three starting offensive lineman in addition to addressing their weaknesses in the middle of the defensive line.

While Trey Smith remains someone the Bears will likely target in free agency, if the team is in search of the next great offensive lineman, that will need to come through the 2025 NFL Draft. Using any pick from this upcoming draft on a trade that doesn't fully address the team's problematic areas would be a major mistake.
