Improving the offensive line has been the focus for the Chicago Bears this offseason.
It wasn't just the focus for the Bears, it was the priority as the team added three new starting offensive linemen by the time the first week of the 2025 NFL Free Agency period was over. With trades for Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson, and signing center Drew Dalman, the Bears have accomplished their goal of adding three new starters to their offensive line.
The additions the Bears have made to the offensive line has given them added flexibility for what to do during the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The Bears hold the No. 10 selection in the draft and they are in a position to select the best player available as there is no longer a dire need that the team has. Of course, that could also suggest the Bears would be willing to trade back if the right offer were on the table.
Trading back is not what Brad Biggs had the Bears doing in his first 2025 NFL Mock Draft for the Chicago Tribune. Instead, Biggs has the Bears select LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell in the first round. The knock against Campbell has been his arm size but Biggs believes that shouldn't be the reason for the Bears to avoid him. Biggs also suggests that the Bears could move Campbell inside if the fear over his arm size does become a reality.
Selecting Will Campbell would continue the Bears' 2025 NFL offseason trend
On the positive side, if Campbell proves to be an anchor at left tackle, the Bears will have solved their tackle spots for the long term, considering Darnell Wright is firmly in place on the right side.
However, the mere mention that Biggs suggests Campbell moving to guard may be a possibility might be the reason the Bears stay away from taking the LSU tackle at No. 10. If the plan is to tackle, then the Bears should be sure that Campbell can stay at the tackle spot for the long term. If they aren't, trading down may be more feasible.
