Chicago Bears fans are still trying to figure out what happened at the end of the first half of the Detroit Lions' Week 2 matchup.

It started with the Lions driving down the field before the end of the second quarter, where Jared Goff connected with Isaac TeSlaa on a spectacular one-handed 29-yard completion to the Bears' four-yard line. The problem came with what the referees did after that.

Detroit was running up to the line and spiking the ball, but there wasn't any time left. The referees then announced they were supposed to stop the clock with 16 seconds left and have a 10-second runoff to make it six seconds left. That was enough time for Goff to throw a quick touchdown pass to give the Lions a 28-14 halftime lead.

The referees completed screwed the Bears on that play

The play clock should have kept going, and it was clear that there wasn't time remaining. It wasn't very clear to see what happened, but it was clear as day that TeSlaa landed inbounds, and it should have continued with the clock.

Bears fans aren't going to feel good about that play, especially after what happened in the first half. Chicago's defense allowed 279 yards from the Lions and 28 points. It was an overall bad showing from the defense that also lost Jaylon Johnson to injury.

Chicago just simply struggled to get much pressure as the defense had two turnovers in the first half. It was something that the Bears are going to need to clean up throughout the seasons.
