Remember Ryan Pace? What a fun time he was. Pace would just find a dude and trade for him, simple as that. Did it make sense? Who cares. Was it short-sighted? I don't even know what that means. Ryan Pace simply identified His Guy, and then got him. It was inspired work.

And while current Bears GM Ryan Poles has certainly pulled off his fair share of fun trades while running the team, a new trade idea from Bleacher Report harkens back to the Pace days. It's chaotic, kinda random, and probably a bad use of finances – basically, all the staples of a Ryan Pace trade. In that sense, it's beautiful. Take a gander:
B/R wants the Bears to trade for Jalen Ramsey, and I don't hate it
Dolphins Get: CB Greg Newsome II
Bears Get: CB Jalen Ramsey
Browns Get: OT Braxton Jones
" ... However, the Bears could use a player of Ramsey's caliber to line up opposite Jaylon Johnson and give the team a strong pair of coverage options to go along with an aggressive defensive front, especially after the free-agent additions of Grady Jarrett and Dayo Odeyingbo. A season ago, Chicago finished 16th in pass defense. General manager Ryan Poles has done an excellent job addressing need areas this offseason. Ben Johnson was the most coveted head coaching candidate before joining the Bears. Chicago can finally get serious about being competitive, and the acquisition of Ramsey would further cement the squad's up-and-coming status. The offensive line is one of the position groups Chicago attacked this offseason, including the second-round selection of Boston College's Ozzy Trapilo. The rookie has an opportunity to claim the left tackle spot and finalize the Bears' new-look front five. As long as Poles and Co. are comfortable with a rookie on Caleb Williams' blind side, Braxton Jones can be moved."
Now, I'm not super sure how good of an idea it is to trade your starting *left tackle* for a very expensive cornerback who's already on the wrong side of 30, but who cares? I mean, really: who cares. Life is too short to get worked up over fake trade ideas. This idea is fun, and fun ideas always get an A+ from me. Ramsey, Jaylon Johnson, and Kyler Gordon would be electric. If the Bears are going to pull this off, it needs to happen in the early morning hours of Labor Day Weekend, as tradition dictates.
Jalen Ramsey: Chicago Bear? I didn't consider this for a single moment until this week, but now I can't get it out of my head. That's the true power of a Fun Trade.
