Now that the Chicago Bears have finalized the 2025 NFL draft, there will be a few moves here and there, but the roster will mostly be set.
The Bears will take all summer to trim it from 90 to 53, but if they are going to get the roster to 53 today, what would it look like?
Quarterbacks (3): Caleb Williams, Tyson Bagent, Case Keenum
This seems set in stone with Keenum being brought in recently.
Running backs (4): D’Andre Swift, Roschon Johnson, Kyle Monangai, Travis Homer
The addition of Monangai may signal that the team will sign a veteran running back, and this may not be the final four who make the roster.
Wide receivers (6): DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, Luther Burden, Olamide Zaccheus, Devin Duvernay, Miles Boykin
The most notable name missing is Tyler Scott, but he does not provide special teams value like Duvernay and Boykin and those two were brought in this offseason with that idea.
Tight End (3): Colston Loveland, Cole Kmet, Durham Smythe
Stephen Carlson potentially making it as the fourth tight end appears to the be the question here.
Offensive Line (10): Braxton Jones, Darnell Wright, Drew Dalman, Joe Thuney, Jonah Jackson, Ozzy Trapilo, Kiran Amegadjie, Ryan Bates, Luke Newman, Doug Kramer
The first eight appear to be locks. Kramer may not make it if they trust Bates as the backup center, and Newman will have to prove himself against the likes of Bill Murray and Josh Miles.
Defensive Line (5): Gevon Dexter, Grady Jarrett, Andrew Billings, Shemar Turner, Chris Williams
With Shemar Turner in the room and Williams outplaying Zacch Pickens last season, it appears the former third-round pick could be on his way out.
Edge rusher (4): Montez Sweat, Dayo Odeyingbo, Austin Booker, Dominique Robinson
Will the Bears add a veteran edge rusher this summer?’ has become a yearly question under this regime.
Linebacker (5): TJ Edwards, Tremaine Edmunds, Amen Ogbongemiga, Ruben Hyppolite, Noah Sewell
It is hard to see this room shaping out differently at this point.
Cornerback (6): Jaylon Johnson, Tyrique Stevenson, Kyler Gordon, Terrell Smith, Zah Frazier, Josh Blackwell
They have the three starters plus Smith and Frazier as backups on the outside, Blackwell as the inside backup.
Safety (4): Kevin Byard, Jaquan Brisker, Jonathan Owens, Elijah Hicks
It is hard to debate anything from this room. Perhaps Tavarius Moore or Major Burns could push to make it a fifth safety on the roster.
Special teams (3): Tory Taylor, Cairo Santos, Scott Daly
