No one has had a better stretch of great performances in the last month than Chicago Bears cornerback Nahshon Wright has had. And the NFL agrees with that assessment.

The NFL announced that Wright has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for his performance in November. During that span, he had 19 tackles, three interceptions, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

After closing October with a loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the Bears went 5-0 in November, with Wright starting every game at CB2. He replaced Jaylon Johnson and Tyrique Stevenson during the month and outperformed everyone.

Wright is making it more difficult on the Bears to ignore the big offseason question

Initially, the Bears signed Wright to a one-year deal as a role player and backup on defense. After Johnson's injury, Wright has just transformed himself into a lock to be a starting CB2 next year, whether that is in Chicago or elsewhere is the biggest question.

For the whole season, Wright has racked up 54 tackles, 10 pass deflections, five interceptions, three tackles for loss, three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, one quarterback hit, and one touchdown. These are numbers that would be good enough for him to make the Pro Bowl.

Now that the offseason is approaching, it's becoming a realistic possibility that Wright will test the free agent market and find big money elsewhere. Chicago would not be wise to let that happen.

They might have to make some tough decisions regarding potentially Stevenson, who has had some nice moments, but hasn't made the kind of impact that Wright has. Would the Bears consider moving on from Stevenson to make room for Wright?

This award is just further evidence that the Bears have an impossible decision to make, but one that Wright will continue to push harder with his great play.
