As the Chicago Bears prepare for their Thanksgiving Day game against the Detroit Lions, all eyes remain on Matt Eberflus and Thomas Brown.

For Matt Eberflus, it seems that his status as the Bears' head coach is on life support. After opening the season with a 4-2 record, the Bears have lost five consecutive games. Eberflus' Bears have embarked on a losing streak of at least three games in each of his seasons as the Bears' head coach. A loss to the Lions on Thursday would all but confirm he does not get a fourth season with the Bears.

Meanwhile, Thomas Brown's candidacy appears to be on the rise. The Bears' offense has looked better in the two games since Brown became the offensive coordinator and if that trend continues for the remainder of the season, the interim offensive coordinator figures to be in the mix to be Eberflus' replacement.

Bears News: Thomas Brown continues to win press conferences

Since becoming the Bears' interim offensive coordinator, Thomas Brown has been the talk of Chicago. Each time that Brown meets with reporters, it's open a question of what the Bears could have heard from Shane Waldron to make them think he was the right answer for Caleb Williams. Williams and Browns have had an instant connection and it may stem from the type of coaching style Brown has.

The offseason was dedicated to the Bears doing their homework to ensure they were the best landing spot for Williams. Being that was the stated goal, it's baffling how badly the organization whiffed on the hiring of Waldron. Brown's instant rapport with Williams is proof of just how bad of a hire Waldron was.

Bears News: Odds for the next Chicago Bears' head coach.

With Matt Eberflus operating on borrowed time as the Bears' head coach, odds are emerging for who will be the next leading man of the team's coaching staff next season.

The impression of the list would suggest that the Bears are looking for an ascending offensive coordinator to take the reigns of being the team's next head coach. Given Joe Brady's willingness to work with Josh Allen and construct the Bills' offense around what Allen prefers, it stands to reason that he will be a popular name in this offseason's coaching cycle. Peep the spelling of Josh McCown's name, written like a true Chicago meatball.

Bears News: Velus Jones Jr. has a hilarious donation

Velus Jones Jr. was so eager to get out of Chicago that he may have forgotten to clean out his backpack before donating it.

A lucky Bears fan found the backpack that Jone donated to Goodwill and it included the test for Bears' wide receivers ahead of their Week 1 game against the San Francisco 49ers in 2022. Seemingly, Jones was never strong at passing those tests.
