It appears as though the Chicago Bears are getting cornerback Kyler Gordon back on the practice field soon enough.
Multiple Bears reporters shared that Gordon's 21-day practice window has been opened. He has spent the first three weeks of the regular season on IR due to his soft-tissue injury, which has kept him off the field for almost a year now.
Gordon has been posting video updates throughout the last few months showing his progress. This is first sign of positive news coming from the Bears after months of Ben Johnson and Ryan Poles saying that they had no updates on Gordon.

Bears fans shouldn't hold their breath for Gordon to come back for their Week 4 matchup against the New York Jets. Even with that, it's still good that he is within three weeks of returning to the football field.
At least that is the hope. Bears fans have seen this story before last year when everyone thought he was ready to come back against the Green Bay Packers in the regular season and then it never happened after warming up.
While Gordon has made sure everyone knows he is working hard to get back, the Bears fan base hasn't shown much optimism or patience. It's been tough sledding for the fans, as they have pretty much given up on him
What helps them is that rookie fourth-round pick Malik Muhammad has been playing lights out football over the first three weeks of the regular season. Many believe that he is the future at nickel for the Bears, not leaving the door open at all for Gordon.
It's hard to welcome Gordon back, as there is an understanding that injuries happen, but this has taken over a year for the soft-tissue. This feels more mental than anything from Gordon, so something has to give at some point.
Is this the beginning of what could be the comeback story that Gordon is hoping to tell on the field? Everyone certainly hopes so since the Bears have invested $40 million into him as part of his contract extension from the 2025 offseason.

This has now become the wait and see game over the next few weeks on what is going to happen with Gordon. If he doesn't return in three weeks, that is going to cause a massive problem in Chicago, but if he can bounce back and play well, it might be the greatest comeback story in franchise history.
