Not exactly the best way to start the new week, but the Chicago Bears have released their first Week 8 injury report, and there's a laundry list of names on the list.
The most concerning part is that five players did not practice. Four of those players are on offense for the Bears.

What to make of the injury report for the Bears
It's the second straight week where Swift is on the injury report, and he either doesn't have him practicing or is limited in his activities. He was dealing with the same injury last week, yet he still ran for over 100 yards and a touchdown in the 26-14 win over the New Orleans Saints. There's not much to read into this injury yet.
The other aspect of the offense is that three players joined Swift on the sidelines and did not practice. Moore and Kmet have a bigger impact on the unit since they directly affect Caleb Williams and the passing game. Johnson will hurt the Bears in short yards. Rookie seventh-round pick Kyle Monangai's play in the Saints game might give the Bears enough confidence that he can take that RB2 role.
Stevenson has a massive impact on the secondary with Jaylon Johnson already out until potentially late in the season. Wright also showing up as limited is not a great look at cornerback. The hope is that Stevenson can fight through it and get back on the field, but this is not a great start.
Jarrett starting the week practicing, even if it is limited, is a big step for the Bears' defensive line. He has not played since the Dallas Cowboys game in Week 3, but has slowly started practicing again. Could this finally be the week he plays?
One last observation is that Booker and Ogbongbemiga are fully practicing to start the week. The window is closing on Booker while Ogbongbemiga has a little more time, but both guys will have to play soon enough.

It's once again another scary report like the previous weeks have been for the Bears. There are still two more days to see how the rest of the practices go.
