It's real, now, huh? The words of Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens will continue to ring loudly all week long after a huge win over the Philadelphia Eagles. It was a game the Bears weren't supposed to win, though, if you asked just about anybody outside of the city of Chicago.
Philly media was especially harsh on the Bears, leading up to the game, and rookie wide receiver Jahdae Walker took notice. Following the Bears' win on Black Friday, Walker found and reposted a video mashup of some Eagles media personalities who had words that aged hilariously.
It was a simple repost with two laughing emojis, and that's all we needed to see. Going in and listening to these Eagles voices' opinions was even more fun knowing that Bears players heard them loud and clear.
Jahdae Walker spoke for every Bears fan after watching Chicago dismantle the Super Bowl champions
"Before you start printing those playoff tickets, let's just pump the breaks. They've only beaten one team in that nine-game stretch that had a winning record, and that team is the fraudulent Pittsburgh Steelers," one Philly host said.
"The Bears defense is not good and it's going to be exposed by a Philadelphia offense ... Barkley should have a breakout game. I don't see the Bears stopping Philadelphia in this one," he went on.
Let me go ahead and check my notes, quick. Saquon Barkley rushed for 56 yards.
Kyle Monangai and D'Andre Swift, meanwhile, became the first Bears running back duo to go for over 100 yards, apiece, in a game, since Walter Payton and Matt Suhey back in the 80's.
281 rushing yards to 87. That was the final tally for these two teams.
A Saquon breakout game, you were saying?
"Chicago's phony. They're a 8-3 team just like Philadelphia ... but here's the difference, with Philadelphia, power rating-wise, only five teams would be favored them on neutral field, based on my power rating. Chicago, they're not even in my top 20," another podcast/radio host chimed in.
I am not sure what "power rating" system is being used, there, but it's a good thing those "systems" don't decide what happens on the field. The Bears took that "system" and sent it to the moon.
Even Bears fans could've been second-guessing this team going into the Eagles matchup. We'll all admit it if we're being honest. But Ben Johnson's Bears just proved they are anything but "phony."

Keep enjoying the big win. Chicago deserves this.
