It appears that the Baltimore Ravens are feeling generous with their talent, which should put the Chicago Bears in a position where general manager Ryan Poles makes a call.

One of the two major trades in the NFL from Tuesday came from Baltimore as the Ravens traded away Odafe Oweh and a 2026 fifth-round pick to the Los Angeles Chargers in exchange for safety Alohi Gilman and the Rams' original 2027 seventh-round pick. After having 10 sacks a season ago, Oweh has been relatively quiet and hasn't played as much for the Ravens.

A stunning trade like this almost signals that the Ravens are nearing the point of waving the white flag on the season and could be in the market to make more trades. Here's where Poles could step in and make a reasonable offer to them.

Poles ready to make a deal for a Ravens pass rusher who can impact the Bears

This doesn't have to be a complicated trade for Poles, as it can be as simple as sending one draft pick to the Ravens. In exchange, the Bears would get outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy.

Van Noy is 34 years old, but he is a veteran who has played in the NFL since 2014. He's coming off his first Pro Bowl season last year after finishing 2024 with a career-high 12.5 sacks. This season, similar to Oweh, Van Noy has not played as much, with only three games under his belt, but he did record his first sack of the season last week in Baltimore's loss to the Houston Texans.

The biggest complaint about the Chicago Bears this season is the lack of consistent pass rushers on the team. They are tied for last in the NFL in sacks with five.

Another good part of having Van Noy is that he is in the final year of his two-year, $9 million deal with the Ravens, so they wouldn't have to pay him as much. Additionally, he could be seen as a rental option, one that, if he works out, they could bring back.

There's an argument that could be made that Austin Booker is coming back soon, so they don't need pass rushers, but Chicago isn't getting much help from Montez Sweat or Dayo Odeyingbo. Booker hasn't yet proven that he can be consistent in the regular season.

If Poles wants to make a bold move and get this Bears team into the postseason, these are the type of moves he will need to make.
